In this article, the study of spatial-temporal distribution of lightning discharges on the territory of Kazakhstan based on Worldwide Lightning Location Network (WWLLN) data was done for the first time. The results of monthly, daily and hourly temporary distribution of lightning activity are obtained. Density distribution of the lightning, durations of thunderstorms, spatial development of lightning activity are presented. WWLLN efficiency for the Kazakhstan area is discussed. The research was executed within the framework of "Creation of Kazakhstan Lightning Detection Network" project.
