Geochemical partitioning of lead in sediments of the coastal environment of Rushikulya estuary, Gopalpur coast and Bahuda estuary, Bay of Bengal has been carried out over a period of one year. Percentage of dissolved and particular fractions of lead showed significant variations in different seasons because of their involvement in the biochmical cycles. The transport of these fraction of lead into the coastal enviroment have been explained on the basis of adsorption.
