It is the second largest selling OP and found to be more toxic to fish than organochlorine compounds. CPF passes via air drift or surface runoff into natural waters, where it is accumulated in different organisms living in water, especially in fish, thus making it vulnerable to several prominent effects. CPF is known to inhibit acetylcholinesterase, cause behavioural, neurological, oxidative, histopathological, endocrine and other effects at low doses.
